I am a 1989 graduate of Allegheny College, where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and a 1992 graduate and recipient of a Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. I worked as an associate at a firm in North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County, from 1992 to 1993, before accepting a position as an associate at a firm in Smethport in 1993. I opened my own firm in Smethport in 1994. In 2001, I helped found the partnership of Sciarrino TeWinkle & Miller, which had offices in Erie and Smethport, and I was the managing partner of the firm's Smethport Office, until resuming practice on my own in Smethport in October 2006. Since 1994, in addition to my private law practice, I served as a Magisterial District Judge for Magisterial District Court 48-3-02 in Smethport, from June 2004 to January 2006; and, as an Assistant Public Defender for McKean County, from 1995 through 1997.
I concentrate my practice on Criminal Defense, and, litigation matters involving Auto Accidents and Personal Injury & Death, Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation, Social Security Disability, Insurance Bad Faith, other Civil Litigation, and, Real Estate Sales, Purchases, Title Opinions & Litigation.
The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania admitted me to practice before the courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I am also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
I am a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and am a former Zone 7 Governor of that association. I have served on its Planning and Nominating Committees. I am a former Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Solo and Small Firm Section (2004 to 2006) and have also served as that section's Treasurer, and, am currently a member of that section's governing council. I am also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Criminal Justice, Civil Litigation and Workers' Compensation Sections. I am a member of the McKean County Bar Association and have served as its Treasurer; and, am a member of the Justice Robert H. Jackson Inn of Court.
I am active in the Smethport community through my involvement in the Smethport Rotary Club, and have served as the club's President. I am a member of the Smethport Area Chamber of Commerce and am a former member of its Board of Directors and former Vice-president of that organization. I was also a member of Smethport Heritage Community Stakeholders Group Committee (Pennsylvania Route 6 Heritage Communities Program).
